VWHS announces fall play production

VWHS Theatre information

Van Wert High School Theatre proudly presents its 2014 fall production at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center.

VWHS Theatre Fall Play PosterThis fall, VWHS theatre students will be performing George Washington Slept Here, a classic comedy in three acts written by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman. The show explores the best of times and the worst of times when looking at and purchasing a new home that may or may not have the ideal qualities, including running water, a roof, or even the presumed historical value.

Newton, Annabelle, and Madge Fuller decide to own this piece of cherished American land. The audience will experience the whirlwind of a family of which the Fullers are. When hard economic times strike, the Fullers must decide what to do with their beloved property.

Melissa Bloomfield and Danielle Slagle are directing this hilarious comedy, which is appropriate for the whole family. Hugh Saunier will serve as technical director and Josh Schumm will serve as set construction director. VWHS student Tyler Nygren will design lighting.

George Washington Slept Here will be performed at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Van Wert, on Friday, November 21, and Saturday, November 22, with both shows starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are now on sale and may be purchased from cast members, the NPAC Box Office at 419.238.NPAC, or at the door the night of performances.

VWHS Theatre strives to create and perform theatrical works that inspire the community with an appreciation for the arts. Visit the VWHS Theatre website at www.VWHSTheatre.weebly.com for more information.
