OC water tower demolished
Ohio City’s old water tower came down with a crash on Thursday afternoon, as these photos by photographer Bob Barnes show. The tower, built in 1930 by Chicago Bridge & Iron Works, was in service until 2011, when a new water tower was put into service, according to Village Administrator Jeff Krugh. Demolition was performed by Jutte Excavation of Fort Recovery. Krugh estimated the tower would produce 50-55 tons of scrap steels and would require 4-5 working days to remove from the site.
