Christmas decorations now up in Wren

Wren Christmas Society information

WREN — The Christmas decorations were put up in Wren on Saturday, November 15, and the official lighting ceremony will be held this Saturday, November 29, at dark (approximately 6 p.m.).

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in Wren at the Santa House at the corner of Ohio 49 and Jackson Street on Saturday, December 13, and Friday and Saturday, December 19-20, from 6 to 8 p.m. Carriage rides, hot chocolate and cookies will be available during Santa hours.

The society will also be sponsoring an outside home display contest again this year within a 3-mile radius of Wren. Contact Karen at 419.495.2623 with any questions.

The Wren Christmas Society is grateful to everyone who recently purchased chicken dinner tickets, those who donated money, and Gibson’s Barnyard BBQ for preparing the chicken dinners. The money raised will help pay for the electricity for the Christmas lights this holiday season.

The WCS spends over $900 a year for electricity, $1,000 for replacement bulbs, strand lights, and miscellaneous electrical equipment, $500-$1,000 a year for new display items, $450 for wagon rides, cards and candy for the children. Area residents’ support and generous donations help make what the society does possible.
