The vaunted Knight defense was the story, as Crestview held the Bulldogs to 28 points in the final three quarters, while the Knight offense scored 44 points.

Ada trailed by just three points, 15-12, at the end of the first quarter, but was down by 10, 30-20, as the Knights went on a 15-8 run in the second stanza. Crestview led by 23 points, 51-28, at the three-quarter mark, but sent the reserves in for the fourth quarter — the only period Ada outscored the Knights.

Connor Lautzenheiser led all scorers with 26 points, while Mitchell Rickard added 10 points for Crestview. Jordan Bailey was the only Bulldog in double figures, with 12.

The Knights made 20 of 37 field goal attempts (54.1 percent) and were 14 of 16 from the charity stripe (87.5 percent). Ada was 13 of 32 from the field (40.6 percent), while hitting 10 of 16 from the line (62.5 percent).

Crestview crashed the boards hard, getting 23 rebounds to 17 for the Bulldogs.

The Knights are now 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the NWC, while Ada is 1-1 overall and 0-1 in league play.

Crestview’s junior varsity team also won, 44-35, to go to 3-2 on the year, while Ada’s JVs are also 1-1.

The Knights will next play Fort Jennings on Tuesday.
