Lancers get easy win over Allen East

The Allen East Mustangs kept it close — for a quarter — but then the Lincolnview Lancer offense took over, outscoring Allen East 56-35 to win easily, 66-41, in both teams’ Northwest Conference opener on Friday.

Justis Dowdy led all scorers with 22 points, while Hayden Ludwig scored 17 points for Lincolnview and Derek Youtsey added 9 points for the Lancers. Jacob Sherrick was the Mustangs’ leading scorer with 10 points.

The Lancers are now 2-2 overall and 1-0 on the NWC, while Allen East falls to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in league play.

The Mustangs edged the Lincolnview junior varsity team 43-42 in overtime. Trevor Neate led the Lancer JVs with 15 points.
