Ruth W. Canary

Ruth W. Canary, 91, of Rockford, died at 11:44 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014, at her daughter’s residence.

She was born March 14, 1923, in Washington Court House, the daughter of Harry Guy and Jennie Gertrude (Flint) Ford, who both preceded her in death. On October 27, 1945, she married Ralph P. Canary, who died October 3, 1994.

Survivors include two sons, Terry (Mary Lee) Canary of Celina and Keith (Cindy) Canary of Rockford; a daughter, Donna (Troy) Riley of Rockford; a sister, Doris Borns of Celina; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Two brothers, Gene and Phillip Ford, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 24, at Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Celina, with Pastor Keith Baker officiating.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
