City ED advisory group hears updates

Van Wert ED Advisory Group information

The Van Wert Economic Development Advisory Group held its monthly meeting this past Friday.  The meeting was hosted by the Wassenberg Art Center, where attendees heard from Executive Director, Hope Wallace about the impact the art industry has on the region.

A report was given by Van Wert City Economic Development Director-Ohio State University Extension Educator Cindy Leis, on the status of the megasite certification, marketing efforts and business retention and expansion results.

The guest speaker at the meeting was Chris Jones of Power 10, a capital campaign firm that is representing the local Business Development Corporation’s Opportunity Fund Initiative. Donors have pledged nearly $1 million to day for the initiative.

Following the meeting, the Economic Development Advisory Executive Committee met and began planning for 2015 efforts in the Van Wert City Economic Development Office.
