Joan Eickholt
Joan “Jo” Eickholt, 82, of Ottoville, passed away at 10:18 a.m. Thursday, December 25, 2014, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Delphos.

She was born June 9, 1932, to Victor and Veronica (Maenle) Kehres, who both preceded her in death. On May 2, 1953, she married Leonard Eickholt, who died March 8, 1993.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra (Dennis) Altenburger of Delphos and Susan (Steven) Hermiller of Columbus Grove; three sons, James (Ceil) Eickholt, Terry (Judy) Eickholt and Mike (Jeanne) Eickholt, all of Ottoville; 13 grandchildren, Laura (Matt) Saunders, David (Julie) Eickholt, Steven Eickholt, Lindsey Eickholt, Jason Altenburger, Jena (Adam) Rostorfer, Andrew (Stacy) Eickholt, Melissa Eickholt, Cassandra (Ben) Troyer, Amanda Hermiller, Rachel (Tim) Meyers, Heidi (Kyle) Miller and Elizabeth (Ben) Beaubien; 11 great-grandchildren, Evan, Ella, Enna and Easton Meyers, Adeline, Reid and Rhett Miller, Ava Eickholt, Nolan, Greyson and Harrison Beaubien (and two more expected next year); a sister, Marge Miller of Fort Jennings; two brothers, Leonard “Butch” (Marge) Kehres of Ottoville and Michael (Linda) Kehres of Florida; a one sister-in-law, Eileen Kehres of Ottoville.
A brother, Gilbert Kehres; three brothers-in-law, John Miller, George Berres and Elmer Horstman; and two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Berres and Ruth Horstman, also preceded her in death.
Jo retired from Aeroquip Corporation in Van Wert and, following her retirement, worked at Lock Sixteen Catering Service. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville and its Altar Rosary Society. She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching it grow. She loved to go shopping and going to Grand Lake St. Marys. Jo also looked forward to going on trips with her friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 29, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville, with Father Jerome Schetter officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ottoville.
Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, December 28, at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township, Putnam County, where a scripture service will be held at 2 that afternoon.
Preferred memorials: Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or to St. Mary’s Cemetery Capital Improvement Fund.
