Police seeking driver who hit pedestrian

The Van Wert City Police Department is seeking information on a hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian that occurred about 9:41 p.m. Christmas Day.

According to police, a silver/gray van was westbound in the 800 block of East Main Street when it struck a pedestrian on the north side of the roadway. The van was last seen turning south onto South Chestnut Street as it fled the area.

The suspect van has black plastic side mirrors and the passenger side mirror was broken off at the time of the crash.

The pedestrian crash victim was taken to Van Wert County Hospital for treatment.
