Anna Marie Taylor

Anna Marie Taylor, 79, of Van Wert, died Wednesday, December 24, 2014, while celebrating the holiday with her family in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Anna was born July 30, 1935, in Latty Township, the daughter of Ronald O. and Mabel O. (Schaffner) Taylor, who both preceded her in death.

Anna was a graduate of the former Hoaglin-Jackson High School and received a bachelor’s degree in education from Olivet Nazarent College in Kankakee, Illinois. She was employed as a teacher in the Miami-Dade County School System in Miami, Florida, for 30 years. She then received her credentials as a minister in the Church of the Nazarene and served congregations in Miami, Norristown, Pennsylvania, and Van Wert.

Survivors include her brother, Eldon E. (Kaye L.) Taylor; a niece, Laurie A., Taylor of New Haven, Indiana; one nephew, Ron L. (Lori) Taylor of Indianapolis; and a great-niece, Aiden E. Taylor, also of Indianapolis.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, at Brickner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Carol Tumbleson-Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Calling hours are from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
