Lady Knights get cage win over Kalida

CONVOY — The Crestview Lady Knights defeated Kalida’s Lady Wildcats 48-36 behind stingy defense and timely offense Saturday afternoon at Ray Etzler Gymnasium.

Crestview held Kalida to just 32 percent shooting from the floor and just 14 points total in the middle two quarters.

After a slow start that had Crestview trailing 10-9 after eight minutes of play, the Lady Knights outscored Kalida by 12 in the second and third stanzas to build their lead.

The two teams essentially played even the final quarter.

Junior Emily Bauer tallied a double-double, scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, while senior Lindsey Motycka and freshman Paige Motycka added 10 and 9 points, respectively.

With the win, Crestview moves to 7-0 on the season, while Kalida drops to 5-3.

The Lady Knights will return to play Monday, January 5, as they travel to Green Meadows Conference country to take on the Hicksville Aces.
