David C. Springer

David C. Springer, 61, of Angola, Indiana, and formerly of Van Wert, died at 8:58 p.m. Thursday, January 1, 2015, at his residence.

He was born June 9, 1953, in Van Wert, the son of Gene Richard and Betty P. (Ditto) Springer, who both preceded him in death. He married Debra (Runyon) Springer, who survives in Angola.

Other survivors include two children, Shad (Stacia) Springer of Van Wert and Trisha (Danny) Fredericks of Wheatland, Wyoming; a brother, Stephen (Robin) Springer of Convoy; one sister, Jeannie (Bud) Clarkson of Sylvania; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, January 5, at Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert, with Pastor Jim Erwin and the Rev. Clark Williman officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, with graveside military honors performed by the combined units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, January 4, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, and an hour prior to funeral services at the church.
