Elizabeth Annette Linton

Elizabeth Annette “Betty” Linton, 87, of Van Wert, died at 8:32 p.m. Thursday, January 1, 2015, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born July 30, 1927, in Cridersville, the daughter of George Phillip and Naomi Victoria (Foster) Lauck, who both preceded her in death. On June 6, 1945, she married Lewis Melbert Linton, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include a daughter-in-law, Judy Linton of Van Wert; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Three children, Vicky L. Linton, Kenneth D. Linton and Rose Mary Engel; three siblings, James Lauck and twin brother and sister Ronald and Beverly Lauck, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, at Middle Point United Methodist Church, with Pastor Tim Owens officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Calling hours are from 2-5 and 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, January 5, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.

Preferred memorials: Middle Point United Methodist Church or Thomas Edison School.
