“Rule of thirds” is focus of VW Area Photography Club

By Rex Dolby

This picture illustrates use of the “rule of thirds”. This guideline proposes that an image should be imagined as divided into nine equal parts by two equally spaced horizontal lines and two equally spaced vertical lines, and focal point(s) should be placed where the lines intersect, rather than simply centering the subject in the picture. The Van Wert Area Photography Club will meet Thursday, Jan. 8, at 7 p.m. at the Van Wert Elks lodge. The lodge is located at 1197 Elks Drive, beside the Van Wert Decatur Rd. (224 business) just west of Van Wert.  The meeting is open to the public.  Members are reminded to bring one picture on a jump drive that illustrates their understanding of the rule of thirds.
