Van Wert CVB announces new logo

The Van Wert Area Convention and Visitors Bureau recently chose a new logo to serve its organization. The design created by Ty Coil of Real Cre8tive will soon begin appearing around the community and on all publications produced by the CVB.
The design incorporates the long-held branding phrase “Welcome Home” above a map of Ohio with a heart pointing out the location of Van Wert by a circle. The name ‘Van Wert” is placed on a ribbon across the entire graphic.
According to CVB Executive Director Larry Lee, his agency is currently preparing an updated 2015 Visitors Guide and will soon be launching a newly revised website.
“It seemed like the ideal time to consider also updating our logo,” Lee said. “One of the primary objectives of the CVB is to welcome visitors to our area, and we felt keeping the “Welcome Home” branding as part of our new logo was important.
“We also wanted to give people unfamiliar with our region of Ohio an idea of where Van Wert is located, so we included the outline map of Ohio with a heart strategically placed showing our location,” he added.
When asked about why a heart symbol was used, Lee explained that Van Wert is in the “heart of northwest Ohio”, surrounded by many unique attractions and opportunities for family fun.
“Within an hour’s driving distance of Van Wert there are enough activities the keep a family busy for a week,” Lee noted. “Consider not only what would be called local attractions, but the many things to do in Fort Wayne, Lima, the Grand Lake St. Marys area, and the region we partner with known as Ohio’s Historic West.
“We try to sell people on the idea that Van Wert serves as a great ‘home base’ for overnight stays, while being able to quickly reach other travel attractions in the area,” he concluded.
