‘Putt Around Van Wert’ event announced

Putt Around Van Wert, an indoor Putt Putt Golf tournament, will take place on Saturday, January 31, with four-player teams competing for cash prizes for first-, second- and third-place finishes.

Players travel to nine Van Wert businesses to play one hole of Putt Putt Golf at each location. Participating businesses and organizations are:  Sears, Van Wert Bedrooms, Lee Kinstle GM Sales & Service, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, Kennedy-Kuhn, Elks Lodge 1197, Eickholt Farms, American Legion Post 178 and Fricker’s.

Teams may sign up at any of the participating locations or email info@vwcclub.org with a team name and a list of members.  The cost is $80 per team.  Play will begin and end at the VFW Post 5803.  Holes can be played anytime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. with winners announced after all scores have been tallied.

Each business/organization will create its own hole and anything goes. Those who’ve participated in the past know how creative, and challenging, these holes can be.  Golfers vote for their favorite hole and the winning business receives a travelling trophy.
