Lancer boys lose to Columbus Grove

The Lincolnview Lancers got close, but just couldn’t get over the offensive hump, losing to Columbus Grove 52-48 in a Northwest Conference game played Friday.
The Bulldogs got out to a 14-9 first-quarter lead, but the Lancers tied the game at 24-all at the half with a 15-10 run in the second quarter. The Lancers got behind again in the third quarter when Grove outscored them 13-11 and the Bulldogs were able to close it out in the final stanza, although Lincolnview was able to get close a couple of times.
The Lancers had three players in double figures, led by Justis Dowdy’s 15 points. Hayden Ludwig and Derek Youtsey both scored 11 for Lincolnview. Jace Darbyshire was the only Columbus Grove player in double figures, with a game-high 19 points, but Joey Warnecke scored 9 points and Logan Diller added 8 points for the Bulldogs.
With the loss, the Lancers are 6-5 overall and 1-2 in the NWC, while Grove is 7-2 and 2-1 in league play.
