Lady Knights get easy win over Paulding

CONVOY — The Crestview Lady Knights put 10 girls in the scoring column, using a balanced offensive attack and their patented man-to-man defensive pressure to down the Paulding Lady Panthers 78-15.

The Panthers shot just 15 percent from the field (6 for 38) while Crestview was a respectable 31 of 65 for 47 percent.

Crestview also won the rebounding battle, 37 to 20, while forcing the Lady Panthers into turning the ball over 26 times.

The Lady Knights were led in scoring by senior center Emily Bauer, who had 14 points, while freshman Paige Motycka tallied 12 points, Mackenzie Riggenbach added 10 points and Lindsey Motycka and Claire Zaleski both scored 9 points for Crestview.

Faith Vogel led the Panthers with 8 points.

Crestview led 19-4 after one quarter of play, while the Knights were up by 28 points, 39-11, at the half. It was 59-15 at the end of three quarters, and the Panthers were held scoreless in the final stanza.

The Lady Knights move to 16-0 overall and 5-0 in the Northwest Conference.

The junior varsity game also went to Crestview, 44-23. Hannah Bowen led in scoring with 16 points.

Crestview will host Antwerp at Ray Etzler Gymnasium next Tuesday at 6 p.m.
