Robotics Team donations

This weekend, the Van Wert High School Robotics Team will be competing in the FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics State Championship at iSpace in Cincinnati. Inspections are Friday evening and competition matches are Saturday. The top 32 teams from six regional qualifiers will be competing for the opportunity to move onto the Super-Regional Championships.  The VWHS team received donations from the following local businesses to help in their competition costs: Vancrest Health Care Centers donated  $1,000. Shown are (from the left) Scott White, Bob Spath, Jacob Covey, Nick White, and Mark White. Foster Family Chiropractor also gave $200. Shown are Dr. Shad Foster, Julia Springer, Sadie Zartman, and Dr. Mark Fuerst. Holiday Inn & Suites and Comfort Inn owner NB Patel graciously donated $550 as his hotels were filled up for the local Van Wert competition in January. Robotics Team coaches Zane McElroy and Bob Spath said this about the team: “The team has shown a tremendous amount of perseverance and dedication this year in putting on the competition and we are looking forward to a positive showing at the state championship this weekend!” (VWHS photos)
