Lincolnview wins, Knight boys lose in OT

The Lincolnview Lancers celebrated homecoming with a lopsided 69-51 win over Paulding in a Northwest Conference game played Friday at Lincolnview.

Justis Dowdy led the Lancers’ offensive fireworks with 27 points — including three treys — while Chandler Adams had 10 points and Austin Leeth added 9 points for Lincolnview. Alex Arellano led Paulding with 13 points, while Corbin Edwards and Treston Gonzales each added 9 points for the Panthers.
The Lancers are now 13-8 overall and 3-4 in the NWC, while Paulding falls to 10-9 overall and 2-5 in league competition.
Lincolnview led 33-22 at the half and was up by 10, 51-41, entering the final stanza.
The Lancers also won the junior varsity game, 47-37.
The Crestview Knights didn’t fare as well, losing 56-51 in overtime to the Bluffton Pirates.
With the loss, Crestview is now 12-7 overall and 5-2 in the Northwest Conference, while the Pirates are 14-6 and 3-4 in the NWC.
The Knights trailed by six points, 14-8, at the end of the first quarter, and were down by seven, 24-17, at the half. Crestview erased the Pirates’ lead in the third quarter with a 15-8 run to tie it up at 32-all heading into the final stanza. The Knights had a chance to win in regulation, but Nate Owens missed a three-point attempt with the score tied at 44-all to send the game into overtime.
Crestview also got out to a quick lead in the extra period, but top scorer Cody Mefferd fouled out and the Pirates made their free throws down the stretch to outlast the Knights.
Mefferd led Crestview’s offense with 17 points, while Owens scored 13 points and Connor Lautzenheiser added 9 points for the Knights. Bluffton was led by Levi Kistler’s game-high 20 points, while Mitchell Ault added 12 points and Bret Rumer had 11 points for the Pirates.
Bluffton’s junior varsity team had no problems with the Knights, winning 57-26.
