The Lincolnview Lady Lancers had only four players score in their Division IV sectional game against Hamler Patrick Henry, but that was enough, as Julia Thatcher and Ashton Bowersock combined for 33 points to give Lincolnview a 43-28 win over the Lady Patriots.

Lincolnview led by four, 8-4, at the end of eight minutes of play, but Patrick Henry closed the gap to one, 15-14, at the half.

It was 27-26 at the end of three quarters of play, but the Lancers went on a 15-4 run in the final period, including 5 of 7 from the free-throw line, to earn the sectional victory. Hannah McCleery added 8 points for the Lancers, while Patrick Henry was led by Katie Wagner’s 8 points.

Lincolnview was 15 of 35 from the field (42.9 percent), while making 4 of 9 three-point attempts (44.4 percent). The Lady Lancers were 9 of 13 at the line (69.2 percent).

The Lady Patriots made 10 of 27 field goal attempts (37 percent), including 4 of 9 from three-point range (44.4 percent). Patrick Henry made 4 of 6 free throw attempts (66.7 percent).

The Patriots had the edge on the boards, bringing down 17 rebounds to 15 for Lincolnview. The Lancers had fewer turnovers, though, 7-10.

Lincolnview will now face Ottoville in a Division IV sectional finals game at Van Wert High School.
