Photo club bylaws ready for discussion
By Rex Dolby
The Van Wert Area Photography Club’s Bylaw Committee recently spent six hours putting what they hope are the final touches on the club’s new bylaws.
Once retyped, the revised document will be presented to the membership for ratification at its meeting Thursday, March 12, at 7 p.m. at 114 S. Race St. The previous bylaws occupied one page, but the new set is more detailed and fills more than 12 pages.
The committee felt that some revisions are likely to be offered on the 12th. As a result, it would be more cost-effective to project each page on a screen and discuss any possible changes that may be suggested for it . After those revisions are included, the document would receive a vote for ratification and copies of the new document printed.
Acting Treasurer Karl Gribler pointed out that the meeting on the 12th would be a good opportunity for several people who have expressed an interest in becoming members to attend and bring their dues. Annual dues for individuals 18 and older is $25 and $5 more for each of their family members up to a $40 limit, even though there may be five or more members in their family. Dues for youth under the age of 18 are set at $15.
Hopefully the weather will be more cooperative than it has been of late and there will be a good attendance to finalize the new bylaws and become a part of VWAPC’s history.
