VWCDJFS to have shelter/utility program

VW County DJFS information

The Van Wert County Department of Job and Family Services announces a Shelter and Utility Program for income-eligible families with dependent children.

Families may apply for payment of an outstanding utility and/or shelter cost. Payment(s) not to exceed $500 for each program for eligible families will be made directly to the vendor.

The application period will begin this coming Monday, March 9. Bills to be submitted must be in the name of the applicant, although a face-to-face interview is not necessary.

Additional PRC (Prevention/Retention/Contingency) program eligibility requirements apply.

Applications may be picked up at the Job and Family Services Office, from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (or click here for a printable application).

Monthly income eligibility requirements are as follows:

1-person household, $1,962; 2-person household, $2,655; 3-person household, $3,349; 4-person household, $4,042; 5-person household, $4,735; 6-person household, $5,429; 7-person household, $6,122; and 8-person household, $6,815.

All PRC programs are subject to the availability of funding.
