WBESC board OKs personnel contracts

PAULDING — The Western Buckeye Educational Service Center Governing Board held its March meeting and issued a number of administrative contracts, as well as held a hearing on a retire/rehire request from gifted coordinator Sandra Freeman.

Prior to taking personnel action, the board heard information on the proposed personnel actions, as well as updates on legislative issues and other possible actions from Superintendent Brian Gerber.

Gerber talked about the four stages proposed state legislation goes through prior to final passage. They include an Ohio House Finance and Appropriations Committee hearing, a House hearing, a Senate hearing and conference committee meetings.

Administrative contracts approved by the board are as follows: Christine Feichter, one-year part-time limited; Margaret Schilb, one-year part-time limited; Becky Beaman-Diglia, one-year limited; George Dougal, one-year part-time limited; Gerber, one-year part-time limited; and Jestine Curry, five-year limited contract.

The board accepted the retirement resignation of Sue Wettig from her position as Expanding Educational Horizons teacher, effective June 1. Board members expressed gratitude for Wettig’s years of service to the WBESC and to the children she taught.

The board also approved a budget revision for the Fiscal Year 2015 grant and FY 2015 Parent Mentor Grant.

The next meeting of the Western Buckeye Educational Service Center Governing Board will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at the Van Wert ESC office.
