Lincolnview announces spring musical

VW independent/submitted information

Lincolnview Theatre Department proudly announces it is presenting Tarzan®, The Musical.  Based on Disney’s epic, animated, musical stage adventure and Edgar Rice Burroughs novel Tarzan of the Apes, the show is a favorite for all ages.

The musical features the heart pumping and beautiful music of Phil Collins, including the Academy Award-winning “You’ll Be In My Heart”, as well as “Son of Man” and “Two Worlds”. The presentation will have audience members singing the melodies for days.

Washed up on the shores of West Africa, an infant boy is named Tarzan by apes who protect and raise him.  Apart from striving for acceptance from his ape father, Kerchak, Tarzan’s life is mostly monkey business until a research expedition treks into his tribe’s territory, and he encounters creatures like himself for the first time.

WebTarzan struggles to navigate a jungle thick with emotions as his animal upbringing clashes with his human instincts. The show contains many funny scenes and situations all humans can relate to. Travel along on one man’s journeys as he experiences times of fun, adventure, love and heartache.

The outstanding cast includes Mikinzie Dull as Jane and Skyler Whitaker as Tarzan. Supporting the two leads are the talents of Taite McKinney, Olivia Snyder, Braxton Matthews, Jacob Gibson, Claire Clay, Jacob Pollock, Max Rice, Chandler Adams and Lainie Jones.

Elementary students Connor Johnson and Kaden Hohman play young Tarzan on alternate weekends. The ensemble of apes highlights the talents of Brooke Lehman, Miah Katalenas, Allison Berryman, Courtney Wendel, Frankie Carey, Madison Sill, Claire Clay, Draya Rison, Elizabeth Morgan, Dylan Neate, Josh England, Jacob Bradford, Kathy Tate, Storm Whitaker, Lakin Clemons, Nick Hammonds, Micah Germann, Brayden Thatcher, and Bayley Tow.

Behind the scenes, the stage crew, led by Marcy Shopell as stage manager, includes Makenzie Kraft, Courtney Roehm, Haley Pollock, Jayna Roberts, Kaite Dull, Brad Korte, Noah Daeger, and Luke Bullinger, who “bring the jungle to the stage”.

Also completing the jungle are elementary and junior high apes Kacey Stewart, Sami Sellers, Landon Moody, Madysen Glossett, Delaney Keysor, Annie Mendenhall, Colt Marbaugh, Jacob Keysor, Victoria Snyder and Gabby Perkins.

The show is being presented under the direction of Chad Kraner, while the music director is Stacie Korte.  Kim Pollock is choreographer, with Kinsey Dobbelaere artistic set coordinator. Dee Fisher supports the students as rehearsal accompanist, while Eric Miglin is technical director.

Performance dates are April 10-12, and 16, 18 and 19. Evening show times are 7:30 p.m., while Sunday matinees are 2 p.m.  All performances are being held this year at the Van Wert Civic Theatre.

Tickets are now on sale by calling 419.968.2214, extension 3242, or emailing lincolnviewdrama@gmail.com. Those wanting to obtain tickets should do so early, as performances are expected to sell out.
