Steve Hatfield

Steve Hatfield, 58, of Van Wert, passed away at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at his residence.

He was born January 25, 1957, in Chillicothe, the son of Betty Hatfield, who survives in Chillicothe, and Jack Hatfield, who preceded him in death. Larry Roth was his lifelong friend, mentor and adopted father.

He is survived by his two sisters, Rhonda and Joy; two sons, three daughters and 11 grandchildren, as follows: Steven (Angie) Hatfield of Van Wert, and grandchildren Daegan Hatfield, Conlan Hatfield and Emryn Hatfield; Stacie Davis of Van Wert and grandchild Brayson Davis; Aaron (Leah) Hatfield of Speedwell, Tennessee, and grandchildren Skye Hatfield, Kylix Hatfield and Jaden Spurlock; Kari Hatfield of Van Wert and grandchildren Jaiden Goodwin and Karlye Goodwin; and Brandy Hatfield of Van Wert and grandchildren Kamron Davis and Cassidy Davis.

Steve was a 1976 graduate of Van Wert High School. He worked at the Honda Shop in Van Wert for more than 20 years and was also employed by the City of Van Wert.

Steve was a member of Moose Lodge 1320 in Van Wert, where he enjoyed spending time with friends. He was a beloved father and son, and was a great friend to all who knew him.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 29, at Brickner Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Saturday, March 28, and an hour prior to services Sunday at the funeral home.
