Frances M. ‘Fritzi’ Stewart

Frances M. “Fritzi” Stewart, 83, of Convoy, passed away at 6:20 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2015, at the home of her daughter near Fort Wayne, Indiana.

She was born January 6, 1932, in Van Wert County, the daughter of H. Robert and Dorothy (Gordon) Hummel, who both preceded her in death.  On May 5, 1951, she married Bryan A. Stewart, who died October 21, 2011.

Family survivors include two daughters, Angela (Doug) White of Fort Wayne and Cynthia (Dan) Rattray of Shelbyville, Kentucky; two sons, Lonnie Stewart of Mason and Faron (Janet) Stewart of Orlando, Florida; a brother, Dave Hummel of Convoy; and two grandchildren.

A son, Randall Stewart, also preceded her in death.

Fritzi had retired from General Electric in Fort Wayne with 26 years of service. She was a member of Convoy United Methodist Church, where she had served on the United Methodist Women, Administrative Board, Pastor Parish Relations Committee, Missions Committee and funeral dinner committee. She was an avid fan of Crestview High School football and basketball teams.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, at Convoy United Methodist Church, with Rev. Gregory Leigh officiating. Burial will follow at IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.

Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Monday, April 6, and one hour prior to services on Tuesday, all at Convoy United Methodist Church.

Preferred memorials: Convoy United Methodist Church or Crestview Athletic Booster Club.
