VW Service Club sponsors speech clinic

Van Wert Service Club will sponsor a summer speech and language clinic again this year for area students.

Each child will be offered one therapy session per week for eight weeks. Parents are welcome to attend therapy sessions with their child. Therapy will be provided by Caren Miglin, a licensed speech-language pathologist, who has provided summer clinics for the past 24 years. Since the therapy sessions are held in the home clinic of the therapist, Miglin will make every effort to work around family vacations or illnesses.

Children who have difficulty producing sounds, constructing sentences, understanding or using words, or speaking fluently may benefit from the summer clinic. Parents are asked to pay a one-time fee of $50, but the fee may be reduced due to financial hardship. This program offers a fun, enjoyable, and positive learning experience for children and parents in the Van Wert area. The clinic will run from June 8-August 11, with no sessions the weeks of July 13 and July 20. Therapy will be rescheduled for children whose school is still in session the first week of the clinic.
