Charlie Daniels Band coming to 2015 fair

The Charlie Daniels Band is coming to this year’s Van Wert County Fair!

The Van Wert County Agricultural Society (fair board) made the decision to partner with a local investment company in order to bring a headliner back to the grandstand. In doing so, the fair board was able to keep within its budget by only assuming a portion of the risk for putting on the concert. In return, that same portion of concert proceeds will come back to the fair board in hopes of growing the fair in years to come and marking the return of its tradition of holding a main grandstand concert event.

The Charlie Daniels Band has performed in Van Wert before when they visited the Niswonger Performing Arts Center in 2010. That event was sold out and did not disappoint, leaving Van Wert residents wanting more of the famed group and making an easy choice for the 2015 Van Wert County Fair.

The concert will fall on Tuesday night, September 1, with local country band Nashville Crush the opening act. Technically, the night has been designated a soft opening for the fair as the official opening ceremony is not until September 2.  This is good news for concertgoers, as gate admission will not apply; however, fair vendors will be open to offer a pre-feast of the great fair food everyone enjoys.

Come out and support the local community by attending the Van Wert County Fair.  Tickets for the concert go on sale starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 18.  Tickets can be purchased at the fair office on the fairgrounds or online at www.vanwertcountyfair.com.
