Event being held for local crime victims

Submitted information

Every year, millions of people’s lives are forever changed by crime. They are people’s families, neighbors, friends and colleagues. Crime victims often struggle to work, to pay bills or to support their loved ones. Many have life-changing injuries and need long-term care and support. April 19-25 is National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.

This Tuesday, April 21, Crisis Care Line/House of Transition and Van Wert County Crime Victims Services will be holding an open discussion featuring local survivors of crime, local service providers and Rachel Hudson, a representative from the Ohio Attorney General’s Office of Crime Victims’ Services. Hudson will present an overview of victim’s compensation and the VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday) program. All are invited to join these two organizations from 5-7 p.m. that day in the Ohio State University Extension meeting room on the Van Wert County Fairgrounds. Complimentary refreshments and literature will be provided.

For more information, call Crisis Care Line/House of Transition 419.238.HELP (4357).
