Patty Palmer

Patty Palmer passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015, in San Antonio, Texas.

Patty Palmer
Patty Palmer

She was born January 23, 1925, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, the daughter of Irvin and Linnie Longcrier, who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fay Leroy Palmer; a son, James Stewart Reed; two grandsons, John Kevin Booher and Thad Mitchell Reed; and a brother, Herbert Longcrier.

She leaves behind four daughters, Claudia Booher, Brenda (Dave) Richey, Susan Renee (Merl) Saam and Christine Reed; two sons, Ervin Mitchell “Mike” Reed and John Ernest “Bud” Reed; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters.

Patty spent her younger years in Oklahoma. She graduated and went to work there, and after she married, they moved around for a while until her family found their way to Van Wert in the 1960s. That was where she called home and all seven of her children grew up and graduated in the area. She lived there for more than 30 years before moving to San Antonio, Texas, with her husband and daughter.

Patty loved and supported many things in life. The things she loved the most were her Lord first, her family second and her sports third. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion auxiliaries and Northridge Park Baptist Church. While in San Antonio, she won numerous chili cook-offs and is the standing champion for two consecutive years.

We know she is rejoicing with the Lord and is no longer in pain, but she will still be missed by many, especially her family.
