William G. Rekart

William G. Rekart of Delphos died at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at his residence.

He was born June 26, 1922, the son of Joseph and Ellen (Wannemacher) Rekart, who both preceded him in death. On October 26, 1946, he married Mary Lou (Best) Rekart, who died November 21, 2002.

American Flag for obituaries 6-2011Survivors include five sons, Dr. Michael L. Rekart of Vancouver, British Columbia, Patrick W. Rekart of Bangkok, Thailand, Richard T. Rekart of Houston, Texas, Thomas K. (Jennifer) Rekart and Paul E. Rekart, both of Delphos; a daughter, Mary F. LeValley of Delphos; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sharon Gengler and Peg Mansfield, both of Delphos, and Ruth Steinbuch of Indianapolis, Indiana; a brother, Joseph (Joan Rentz) Rekart of Lima; and a sister-in-law, Della Rekart of Lima.

A son, Matthew J. Rekart; and one brother, Roger Rekart, also preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Daniel Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, where the Delphos Veterans Council will conduct graveside military honors.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Friday, April 24, at Harter and Schier Memorial Chapel in Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 7:30 that evening.
