Lake Campus to host Camp TALK event

CELINA — Camp TALK by the Lake will be held at Wright State University-Lake Campus from August 3-7.  This is an extraordinary opportunity for children between the ages of 6 and 14 who struggle with speech, language and/or social communication challenges.

Camp TALK offers a true “summer camp” experience, as well as intensive speech and language therapy. Speech and language therapy will be offered throughout the day in unique group and individual settings. All therapy will be provided by licensed speech-language pathologists and based on current theory and research, as well as years of experience.

Whether the campers’ goals target articulation or social language, their therapy will be designed to meet individual communication needs. Students will also be receiving educational instruction from aspiring intervention specialists and teachers.

Children will be able to enjoy the beautiful nature surrounding Grand Lake St. Marys, use the indoor swimming pool and gyms of the local YMCA and make use of the facilities of Wright State University-Lake Campus.

Campers will participate in the following daily activities:

• Group and individual speech therapy
• Small group social time
• Arts and crafts
• Science and nature
• Swimming
• Gross motor games
