Ray M. Burk

Ray M. Burk, 67, of Pleasant Township, died Sunday evening, May 10, 2015, shortly after arriving at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

He was born September 18, 1947, in Scott, the son of Richard and Thelma (Schwartz) Burk, who both preceded him in death. On September 30, 1967, he married Carol L. (DeMaderios) Burk, who survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Eric J. Burk of Auburn, Indiana, and Shane R. Burk of Ohio City; five grandchildren; a brother, Roy (Ada) Burk of Paulding; and two sisters, Ruby Day of Convoy and Roxine (Dave) Rodman of Melrose.

A brother, Robert Burk, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 14, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with his brother, Pastor Roy Burk, officiating. Burial will follow in Scott Cemetery, where military honors will be performed by combined units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 11 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
