The United States Tennis Association program for Grades K-5 introduces tennis to youths by using equipment, court dimensions and scoring tailored to their age and size. Whether a child has ever held a racquet, there’s a spot on the team. Each participant will receive a new tennis racquet of appropriate size, a can of tennis balls and a team uniform.
Parents may review recommended team competition activities for this program at www.MidwestTeamTennis.com.
The Van Wert Futures program for Grades 6-8 will continue to work on technique, movement, and tactics using the skill and age-appropriate green dot tennis ball. This program makes the game more accessible and more fun by allowing kids to continue to develop their game in a fun team atmosphere. Each participant will receive a team uniform, a can of tennis balls and new tennis racquet.
Volunteers and coaches are needed for the success of these programs.
To sign up as a volunteer or coach, email vanwerttennis@gmail.com.
