CONVOY — The 2015 Kory Lichtensteiger Football Camp is a high school offensive football camp in Convoy that will be held for athletes going into grades 9-12 from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, June 27. Camp registration is open now and will continue to accept registrations through June 27.
The camp fee is $60 per athlete, which includes a Kory Lichtensteiger Camp t-shirt available with registration until June 20. Registrations after June 20 will be accepted, as well as registrations the day of the camp, beginning at 8:15 a.m. June 27.
The Kory Lichtensteiger Football Camp will be held at Crestview High School’s football complex, 531 E. Tully St. in Convoy.

Lichtensteiger is a Crestview High School and Bowling Green State University graduate and now plays in the National Football League as the starting center for the Washington Redskins. He returns to northwest Ohio on June 27 to produce a Division I caliber camp accessible to a highly talented, yet under recruited area.
“I see a great need for a local camp that provides both top quality instruction as well as exposure to college coaches of all levels,” Lichtensteiger said. “I have been fortunate enough to play for great coaches and meet some very knowledgeable football minds.
“I have asked many of these coaches to come and work the camp this year,” he added. “I think you will be impressed when you see who you will get a chance to work with when you come to this camp.”
Campers will gain exposure and get instruction courtesy of coaches from many NCAA Division I coaches, NCAA Division II universities, as well as NAIA universities, and many NCAA Division III colleges and universities as well.
“College coaches are looking for athletes that can make it to the next level and this camp allows them to see the athletes up close,” Lichtensteiger noted. “Quality athletes from northwest Ohio are sometimes overlooked because of the lack of exposure and ability to get in front of the right people. These coaches are looking for those athletes to come to this camp and be seen by great college recruiters.
“In my high school career I had to run the gauntlet of camps, but now I am fortunate enough to have the coaches come to northwest Ohio’s backyard and the athletes are able to stay close to home and receive better exposure then many camps around.” Lichtensteiger added.
Along with the college coaches that will be in attendance, this camp brings the ability for campers to directly interact with current players from very competitive NCAA Division I universities, including running backs, quarterbacks, offensive linemen and wide receivers.
The featured camp guest again this year will be Washington Redskins Strength and Conditioning Coach Chad Englehart. He brings with him secrets of the NFL Combine and a knowledge base for body development that will improve an athlete’s performance at any level.
He will emphasize football specific speed and strength training as well as drills that include the campers’ 40 time, Pro Shuttle, L Cone Drill, and best of all learn how to decrease an athlete’s 40 time by two-tenths of a second.
“Chad works with me on a daily basis and I have nothing but the upmost respect for his ability to put physically fit bodies on the field that are ready to perform at the highest level,” said Lichtensteiger of Englehart. “He will bring great knowledge to this camp and offer these campers something unique and instantly influential to these athletes’ play on and off the field.”
The goal with the camp is to bring a big time exposure camp to Van Wert County’s back yard. Visit www.KLFootballcamp.com to register online and find out all the details about the camp this year. Also visit Kory Lichtensteiger Football Camp on Facebook and @klfootballcamp on Twitter.
