Break-in occurs at Amvets post in MP

MIDDLE POINT — Van Wert County Sheriff Thomas M. Riggenbach is seeking information on a break-in that occurred at Amvets Post 698 in Middle Point.

Sheriff Riggenbach stated that, sometime between the hours of 10:45 p.m. Thursday, May 28, and 2 p.m. Friday, May 29, an unknown person or persons entered the Middle Point Amvets Post. Once inside, a safe and an undisclosed amount of money were removed from the building.

Sheriff Riggenbach advised that crime scene investigators from the Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI) were called to process the scene.

Sheriff Riggenbach said BCI agents collected evidence from the scene, which was then taken to the BCI crime lab for analysis.
