Buhl Defiance College interim president

DEFIANCE — The Defiance College Board of Trustees has appointed Van Wert resident Edward R. Buhl as interim president of the college, effective July 1.

Buhl has served as Defiance College Board of Trustees chairman since last July and will return to that position as soon as a permanent president is hired.

Buhl is a 1973 graduate of Defiance College and has been a member of its Board of Trustees for approximately 20 years, having served on numerous committees before becoming chairman last July.

Following graduation from Defiance College, he began a 41½-year career at Central Mutual Insurance Company, retiring as senior vice president and secretary of the company.

Defiance College, chartered in 1850, is an independent, liberal arts institution in northwest Ohio offering more than 40 undergraduate programs of study as well as graduate programs in education and business.
