Larry Joe Fox, 68, of Van Wert, died Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

He was born September 28, 1946, in Celina, the son of Jack and Rosemary (Hull) Fox, who both preceded him in death. On February 14, 1970, he married Donna (Klewer) Fox, who survives in Van Wert.

American Flag for obituaries 6-2011Other survivors include his mother-in-law, Helen Klewer of Van Wert; two children, Amber (Tom) Davis of Van Wert and Ryan (Tara) Fox of Ohio City; and five grandchildren, Trevor, Ella and Wyatt Davis and Levon and Delainey Fox.

Two brothers, Jack G. Fox and Billy D. Fox; a sister, Linda Lea Collins; and a granddaughter, Madeline Marie “Maddie” Davis, also preceded him in death.

Mr. Fox retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation and had formerly been a truck driver. He attended Ohio City Church of God. He was formerly a member of the Pregnancy Life Center’s Board of Trustees.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member of American Legion Post 178 and the Fraternal Order of Police, both in Van Wert.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Randy Bevington officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, with graveside military honors performed by combined units of Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803 of Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: In lieu of flowers, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Pregnancy Life Center or a charity of donor’s choice.
