Ruth I. Stewart

Ruth I. Stewart, 99, of Grover Hill, died Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

She was born July 18, 1915, in Van Wert County, the daughter of Lehr and Nora (Stemen) McCracken, who both preceded her in death. On January 16, 1937, she married Lloyd Stewart, who also preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Carl (Diane) Stewart of Van Wert and Eddie (special friend Judy Wyse) Stewart of Middle Point; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a stepgreat-granddaughter; and a great-great-granddaughter.

Two brothers, Donald and William McCracken; and two sisters, Claribel DuVall and Mary Pohlman, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 8, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Calling hours are from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, June 7, at the funeral home.
