June A. Bailey

June A. Bailey, 88, of Van Wert, died at 6:47 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born November 27, 1926, in Lima, the daughter of Elmer and Bertha (Honingford) Stetler, who both preceded her in death. On September 28, 1951, she married Robert Glenn Bailey, who died March 20, 1998.

Survivors include three children, Stephen (Jill Albright) Bailey of Van Wert, Barbara (Chuck) Skaggs of Naples, Florida, and Jeff (Paula Klausing) Bailey of Minster; four grandchildren, Lauren Hand, Kristina Livingston, Lindsey Bailey and Paul Bailey; and four great-grandchildren.

A brother, Richard Stetler, also preceded her in death.

She graduated from St. Rita’s School of Nursing and was employed in several physicians’ offices in Van Wert over the years. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert and its Altar & Rosary Society.

Some her favorite activities were golfing, dancing and socializing with friends and family. She loved dogs.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 8, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Father Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, June 7, at the funeral home, where a Rosary service will be held at following visitation.

Preferred memorials: St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and its Altar & Rosary Society.
