VWHS to have summer baseball camp

VWHS baseball information

The Van Wert High School baseball program will be conducting a baseball camp for athletes in grades 2-8 from Monday, June 15, through Thursday, June 18, at Smiley Park. The camp will start at 9 a.m. and end at 11:30 each morning.

The camp is designed so that each camper will have an enjoyable experience through working on the fundamentals of baseball, including hitting, pitching and fielding. The camp will help teach baseball fundamentals through a variety of hands-on drills, and players will be encouraged to take the skills learned at camp and use them in the current baseball season.

Van Wert Baseball Head Coach Charlie Witten and his staff will direct the camp, while VWHS baseball players will assist each day. Each camper will have the opportunity to work closely with the entire staff and the Cougar baseball players. Campers will receive individual and group instruction.

Fee for the camp is $40, while a second family member’s fee is $30. Make checks payable to Van Wert Baseball. Forms can be turned in at the high school office, addressed to Witten or mailed directly to Coach Witten at Van Wert High School, 10709 State Route 118, Van Wert, OH 45891.

No student will be denied. Those in need of financial assistance should contract Coach Witten for confidential help.
