Storm damage

The early afternoon thunderstorm that swept through the county on Friday, bringing high winds, lightning and lots of rain, also took down this tree on the Mark Pierce property on Liberty Union Road. The tree also brought down power lines leading to a transformer on the Merle Whetstone property and area residents were without power from about 12:50 p.m. Friday until 3:23 that afternoon.
