COLUMBUS — Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Steven G. Posada was promoted to the rank of sergeant by Colonel Paul A. Pride, Patrol superintendent, during a ceremony at the Patrol’s Academy.

Sergeant Posada will transfer from his current assignment at the Wapakoneta Post to serve as an assistant post commander at the Van Wert Post.

Sergeant Posada joined the Patrol in November 2006 as a member of the 147th Academy Class. He earned his commission in June of the following year and was assigned to the Van Wert Post. In 2010, he transferred to his most recent assignment at the Wapakoneta Post. While at the Wapakoneta Post, he was selected as Post “Trooper of the Year” in 2010, 2013 and 2014.

In 2013, he received the Ace Award for excellence in auto larceny enforcement.  In 2014, he was selected as District “Trooper of the Year”.
