Haviland man dies in Henry County fatal

NAPOLEON — A young Haviland man died in a fatal crash between a pickup truck and semi tractor-trailer that occurred over the weekend in Henry County.
Killed was Brian Evan Myers, 20, of Haviland, who reportedly did not stop his southbound 2012 Chevrolet Silverado pickup for a stop sign at the intersection of U.S. 24 and Henry County Road 17D and drove into the path of a semi operated by Buta Singh Sekhon, 35, of Brampton, Ontario.
Emily Bauer, 17, of Convoy, a passenger in Myers’ vehicle, was taken to Henry County Hospital by the Napoleon EMS squad for treatment, while the semi driver was treated at the scene.
Investigating the accident was the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, while the Napoleon Fire Department, Napoleon EMS Squad, the Henry County Emergency Management Agency and Henry County Coroner’s Office also assisted at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
