Van Wert Area Photography Club news 7/2/15

By Rex Dolby

It’s not too early to be thinking about your photography entries for this year’s VW County Fair Photo Exhibit. Entry forms must be turned into the Fair Board Office no later than noon on Aug. 15.

According to Department Q-1600–Photography rules, Division 1601 is the Senior Division for Color and 1602 is Black/White for seniors.  Division 1603 is color for Juniors under the age of 18 before August 1 and Division 1604 is for the Junior Black/White photos.

Each division has five classes having the same themes for color and B/W.  Those classes are: 01, At the Fair; 02, Transportation; 03, People; 04, On the Farm; and 05 is a Land, Sea, or City Scape.

Although the rules have not changed that a picture can not be altered to qualify for submission in another class, nor a picture that was previously exhibited be entered again, a new rule is that you may enter two pictures in any two classes.  This would mean that photographers can enter a total of five pictures in a division, choosing to enter those five pictures in as few as three classes, or however they decide to distribute them.

For more information, the Fair Board business hours till July 6 are: Tuesdays, 5-8 p.m. and Fridays, 2-5 p.m. From July 6-Sept. 1 hours are: Weekdays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturdays, 9 a.m-noon. You may call the office at 419.238.9270 or send an Email to: vwfair@bright.net .
