Dorothy M. Kohorst

Dorothy M. Kohorst, 87, of Van Wert, died at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Van Wert Manor.

She was born May 28, 1928, in Van Wert County, the daughter of Roy and Helen (Keller) Becker, who both preceded her in death. She married Carl S. Kohorst, who died August 13, 2011, after 64 years of marriage.

Other survivors include a daughter, Beth (Ron) Goleman of Van Wert; one daughter-in-law, Cynthia Kohorst of Van Wert; one brother-in-law, Adrian Hanes of Columbus; a sister, Ruth Strong of Pearl, Mississippi; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild (and another due in February).

A son, Michael R. Kohorst; and a sister, Peggy Hanes, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 6, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Van Wert Special Olympics or Van Wert County Relay for Life.
