VW DeMolay sets installation of officers

Van Wert DeMolay information

The Van Wert Chapter, Order of DeMolay, cordially invites the public to attend the semi-annual installation of officers to be held Sunday, August 9. Incoming Master Councilor Chase Day is excited to welcome all DeMolays, their families, friends and all who are interested in, or support, DeMolay.

The ceremony begins at 7 p.m. at the Van Wert Masonic Center, 148½ E. Main St. (above Mengerink’s Source for Sports). An elevator is available for those who need it, and there will be refreshments immediately following the ceremony.

DeMolay logo 6-2014Van Wert Chapter of DeMolay is ending a very exciting term that was presided over by Master Councilor Nick White. Highlights of the term have been a trip to Fort Wayne, Indiana, for bowling; a tour of the University of Cincinnati for the chapter’s Educational Day; the annual state conclave, where Van Wert resident AJ Thomas ended his year as state master councilor; the first annual Color Van Wert Run; community service projects with Main Street Van Wert and Wassenberg Art Center; and several productive fundraisers.

Anyone who is interested in discovering what DeMolay is about should attend the installation of officers. DeMolay is a worldwide fraternity focused on teaching leadership skills, serving the community and preparing young men to live well rounded and fulfilling lives.

The local chapter is proud of its history of service, providing thousands of dollars of scholarships to its members, producing several leaders that have served at the state and international level, receiving commendations from several local institutions, as well as Van Wert City Council, and offering amazing opportunities for its members to meet fellow DeMolays from across the state and the world.

The chapter also invites the community to “like” its page on Facebook and follow them on Twitter, both at “Van Wert DeMolay”. Feel free to stop by the chapter’s website as well at vwdemolay.weebly.com.

Those who cannot attend the installation, but want further information about DeMolay and how to become a member of this dynamic organization, can contact Dr. Kevin Laing at 419.238.9980 or Cade Chiles at 419.605.5471.
