Paulding County man dies in ag accident

PAULDING — A Paulding County man was killed in a farm accident that occurred Wednesday evening.

Richard L. Ross, 75, was killed when he apparently fell from his open-cab tractor and was struck by an attachment he was pulling.

“My thoughts are with the Ross family at this time,” said Sheriff Jason K. Landers. “It is believed Mr. Ross might have experienced a health issue that caused his fall, as there is no evidence of rough terrain or wrongdoing on his part.”

Paulding County Coroner Dr. Joseph Kuhn declared Ross dead at the scene, while Paulding EMS and Fire Department personnel were also at the scene.

The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call reporting that a man was lying in a field west of the intersection of Paulding County Road 137 and Road 118. Ross was found by emergency personnel at that time.

An investigation into the incident is continuing, Sheriff Landers said.
