Wren wiffleball tourney schedule released

Wren Homecoming information

WREN — The Wren Homecoming Wiffleball Tournament schedule has been released. The celebration runs from Thursday, August 20, through Saturday, August 22. The festival begins with the food shack opening and Worship Night at Moser Park on Thursday, while the Junior Wiffleball tournament starts at Wren Ballpark.

Friday night, August 21, will see a lot of action with the opening ceremonies of the 24th annual Wiffleball starting at 5:30 that evening at Wrenway Park.  The tournament schedule is as follows:

Friday, August 21

  • Putman Stables vs. Honey Badgers at 6 p.m.
  • Slusher’s Jewelry vs. Gators at 6:50 p.m.
  • The Roo Crew vs. Eager Beavers at 7:40 p.m.
  • Bill Miller Auto vs. Wren Bar Bunnies under the lights at 8:30 p.m.

Saturday, August 22

  • Sons of Pitches  vs. Yager Bombers at 8:30 a.m.
  • Wiffers vs. Shenanigan’s at 9:20 a.m.
  • MKS Siding vs. Sutton Painting at 10:10 a.m.
  • The Loft vs. Longballers at 11 a.m.

The second round of the tournament starts at 12:40 p.m. Saturday, with a break at 3:10 p.m. for the annual Wren Homecoming Parade and other festivities. The semifinals will be played at 7 and 7:50 p.m., with the championship opening ceremonies beginning at 9:15 Saturday evening. The championship game starts at 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

In addition to the Wiffleball tournament, Wren Homecoming activities include the following:

Friday, August 21 — Lawnmower drag races, Wiffleball Princess Contest, a cruise-in, Beverage Garden, food and live music from Loud Mouth Soup after the last Wiffleball game.

Saturday, August 22 — Wren Fire/EMS pancake breakfast 7-11 a.m., kids games/food and a dunk tank at Moser Park, basket bingo, the Wren Homecoming Rib Cook-Off and parade.

There is something for everyone in Wren on Homecoming weekend in the “Wiffleball Capital of Ohio”.
